You’re probably wondering who we are, and rightly so.
Lets start by talking about the founder of Wicked Cosplay. The beloved Kaori Night. We’ll make this easy, and give you her own words about why she started this project.
“Many years back, at my first anime expo, I became intrigued by the costumes and all the time people put into them. They were all so gorgeous that I wanted to try my own hand at it. After a few more conventions and costumes under my belt, I started to hear more complements about my work. So I figured why not help those who can’t sew or don’t have the time? From there I started taking simple requests from schoolmates and friends, developing techniques and learning how to draft my own patterns for more specialized needs. In exchange for their fabric, I gave them my time and gained experience along the way. After high-school I took on a few sewing and design classes which helped further develope my skills which were first taught to me by my grandmother when I was very young. From my personal modeling and time spent at conventions I was able to spread the word of my small hobby based business to others who shared the same interest but didn’t have the knowledge of the needle.
Over the past few years I’ve connected with other talented cosplayers and craftsmen who have willingly agreed to collaborate in the art of costume making for Wicked Cosplay if I needed their help. I work fast and I work hard. If you notice in some of my galleries I’ve made garments with in days of a convention. I wanted to give my customers quality costumes for a fair, and decent price. I love a challenge and am the only seamstress at Wicked Cosplay. I hope to train a few of my friends so while I’m busy out of town orders can still be taken. I’m happy to work with anyone on a costume (or budget), whether I’m commissioned or not and will do my best to please every customer. Don’t be detoured if you look through the gallery first and see the prices are a bit high. If you see my Information page at the top you’ll notice all of these prices are based on full packages, but anyone can order a piece of a costume package for a reduced price.”

As for me, another part of the ‘we’, I’m Raven Denny. I started learning and working under Kaori Night shortly after I got to know her in 2006. We had met via deviantart when I had seen one of her more well known cosplays (Queen Nepherina from Sailor Moon) and commented. After a short while of getting to know each other she invited me to join her at Anime Expo and I was introduced to the world of cosplay, which I instantly fell in love with.
Starting this year at Anime Expo we both will be providing photography, and we’ll be writing articles of all the events (both Anime Expo official events and some cosplay gatherings) that we attend. Not only do we plan on just the blogs and photography, but we have in the plans a variety of on the spot interviews with various attendee’s.
It is my hope that we can provide you with quick, up to date articles, pictures, and video of the conventions we attend and that you’ll enjoy what we have to offer. With events like Anime Expo, Blizzcon, Gencon, and a variety of others coming in the future, we’ll be sure to provide.
For now, I’m going to get back to work! Only 10 more days till Anime Expo!
